Iiyan Yura: Orangest Sunset

My entry for 's OC contest. It's been a while since I last drew Iiyan, so here he is.

It took me about 4 hours to color in Photoshop. I had a fun time trying to make a background. And epicly failing.

Iiyan Yura

He is an ex-lieutenant from the army, and an excellent swordsman in his own right. His parents died in a fire when he was 3 years old, and he was taken in by an elderly neighbor, whom-from then on- he called his grandmother.
To support them both, when Iiyan [or Yii] reached the age of fourteen, he signed up for the army. In a quick 3 years, he ranked lieutenant for the melee combatants.
However, when his grandmother gets killed by a renegade gang, Iiyan breaks the soldier's code and uses his sword outside a battlefield. This leads to him being taken off the army.
Iiyan is a somber, almost apathetic character, but deep inside, he is overprotective of everything he cares for.
He wears amber earrings which was the only possession he got from his mother. He carries a pendant [not shown] which his grandmother gave him.

He ends up in the Cavalry, a group of unlikely members, composing of a temple priest fallen from grace, a naive necromancer, and a runaway assassin. He finds a hard time trying to fit in, but does his best to have them always safe.

That was a mouthful.
